Vocal Performance at DAMATO
Build a voice you love. Become a confident artist.
We train adult singers of all genres to have the skills they need to be a successful singer and artist- without needing to study full time.
Every student takes a slightly different path through DAMATO curriculum based on their goals, learning style, and desired skillset. We offer a combination of coaching, masterclasses, technique intensives, practice systems, cohort connections, and performances.
We accept a small number of singers (based on availability) into our program each quarter- both online and in Noe Valley, San Francisco.
DAMATO curriculum is designed to be valuable on its own or alongside outside private lessons, choir, musicals, band, or other performance groups.

Studio Class
DAMATO’S CORE VOCAL CURRICULUM
Each Studio Class of the quarter has a different planned lesson topic. These lessons are designed to be applicable to a vast range of skill levels, but maintain the same focus.
After the lesson, students have the option to perform masterclass-style for personalized vocal coaching from faculty and any requested feedback from peers. This is many of our students favorite part of class.
Biweekly | In Person Wednesday @ 7:00pm · Online Tuesdays @ 4:30pm PST

“As an adult student with singing anxiety, McKenna created a wonderfully patient and nonjudgmental space. She also adapted her teaching to the way that I conceptualize and mechanize my own voice… I would (and have) recommend(ed) her to any adult student.”

100%. We love Bay Area private voice teachers, and our curriculum exists to compliment theirs- not to compete with it.
Many of our students are in private lessons alongside their study here.
For our students who time is a concern, they often schedule their private lessons biweekly, on the alternating week of our biweekly studio class. Other students continue weekly study and add our curriculum on.

Although this program is designed to serve all levels, we strongly recommend that you take The Art of Singing before entering our vocal performance program if you are a beginner.
-
We design your goal and practice plan together based on the time you want to commit to singing. We have a wide range of commitment - from students who practice once a week outside of class to twice a day.
Our philosophy is that the minute singing becomes a source of stress in your life, we need to pause and reevaluate. We can always adjust your plan or work on mindset to keep singing joyful and inspiring while challenging yourself to meet your goals.
-
All potential students for our vocal performance program first schedule an introduction call with our founder / head vocal coach: McKenna.
This will be a 15-20 minute consultation where you’ll discuss your goals and see if you’re the right fit for the program and if we’re the right fit for you. McKenna will make a recommendation of your path through our curriculum and how we could best serve you.
-
Our vocal performance tuition varies by student based on what curriculum / added resources (like practice room booking / private coaching) would best serve them to meet their goals. Tuition is charged monthly throughout the quarter. In person, monthly tuition starts at $185 / month. Online tuition starts at $160 / month. Since this is a small program, we have limited sliding scale scholarships available based on merit / application and proof of finances.
What to expect at your intro session
Meet McKenna, DAMATO Founder and program instructor
Talk through your singing goals, experience, and musical interests.
Try a short guided vocal exercise so McKenna can understand your voice and starting place.
If it seems like a great fit on both ends, you’ll get a recommendation for the next best step for you at DAMATO, with your own curriculum plan.
You do not need to prepare anything- and there’s no reason to be nervous. Intro sessions are about 15 minutes and can be scheduled online or in person in Noe Valley. long.
